Welcome to the Alliance SSP

The Alliance SSP (ASSP) is a dynamic, cross-border partnership of talented - and committed - local people, drawn from the public and private sectors, voluntary and community organisations. Together we’re working to create a vibrant and growing economy in North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire and a more prosperous future for each of the 705,000 people living in the districts of Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Newark & Sherwood, and North East Derbyshire – known collectively as the Alliance sub-region.

We take a strategic overview of the economic, demographic, social, environmental and spatial challenges and opportunities facing the sub-region – directing emda’s regional development funding to where it is needed the most. Each year we are responsible for the allocation and administration of around £10million of grant funding.

Our priorities are projects which create jobs, enhance skills, improve infrastructure, develop business opportunities and improve community life. We also work to champion the businesses and organisations located in the sub-region and to encourage and assist inward investment to the local area.
